Rob Hewitson and myself had our seasonal visit to the Basin.
Weather conditions were mostly against us with wind out of the West. Also a full moon at end of week which gave the geese the opportunity to flight on and off Basin any time during night.
We both managed to bag a handful of geese and enjoyed our visit and will be returning next season. Highlights of the week were: watching a Mink working the tide line at dawn (unfortunately I did not have my camera with me). Also one morning we had a good view of 25 white front geese at river mouth.
Richard the warden said they do not get many White fronts on Basin and 25 was a good number.
